Failure is Progress

Ever hear about the rule of thirds? Someone recently shared this with me, and I wanted to share it with you.

It’s a pretty simple concept. When you’re going after a specific goal:

🤩 You should spend 1/3 of our time feeling great – your progress is amazing, you’re accomplishing incredible things, and you feel like a rockstar.

😌 You should spend 1/3 of our time feeling okay – hitting your key benchmarks, but when you’re reflecting back, you might be thinking ‘I could be doing a little better and pushed a little harder.”

😵‍💫 And the key: you should feel SHITTY 1/3 of the time. Things are hard, and you’re feeling overwhelmed, defeated, or even like quitting.

That last 1/3 is where most people stop. But without getting to a point where you feel like you can’t go on, you won’t make progress.

If you’re feeling 100% amazingly awesome 100% of the time, you aren’t pushing yourself hard enough. You CAN go harder. You CAN do more. Chasing a goal is SUPPOSED to be hard, challenging, defeating.

Failing is PROGRESS. It means you exceeded your limits and went for it! Now, you get back up, and you try again.

If you’re going after something, remember and find comfort in knowing that DEFEAT is INSPIRATION.

YOU. GOT. THIS.
