Vacations were always a struggle for me - a balance between enjoying the food where I was and being 'healthy'.
But health includes more than just eating well. It also means being able to mentally allow yourself to have things you wouldn't normally have and feel good about yourself after.
With body dysmorphia, eating a treat like this would have me in the bathroom mirror thinking my stomach was protruding, I gained 25 lbs, and would have me severely restricting for weeks.
The truth is a few treats over the course of a week don't do anything to your progress. Actually, they might assist you in your progress.
This is one of the things I teach to my clients - I don't want them to ever feel how I did for so long.
Dead Set is different.
There's no all or nothing. We believe in making progress, but also enjoying this one life we get to live. 👌🏻
And remember...
Food freedom = more life 💪🏻
I tell my clients 80 / 20. Eat right 80% of the time and allow yourself to enjoy the simple pleasures of life 20%.
Being able to say 'yes' to sharing a dessert with my family without a second thought is so fulfilling, and something I wasn't able to do in the past without following it up with restrictions or excessive exercise.
With the right coaching you can feel free to make fun - and delicious- decisions too!
