Non-Scale Victories


When you're on your health and fitness journey, it's easy to get caught up with what number is showing on the scale. The truth is, there are huge victories that reach beyond the scale and often go overlooked.


Besides your clothes fitting differently or your body changing shape, non-scale victories come in many forms. Some lesser known victories aren't recognized or celebrated as what they are: truly something to celebrate!


1️⃣ Learning to Enjoy Exercise: What was once a chore becomes something you look forward to! You begin to countdown the minutes until you can move your body, and enjoy the hard work you've put in.


2️⃣ Having More Daily Energy: An object in motion stays in motion. As you continue to incorporate more movement into your daily routine, you have the energy you need to be more active with children, at work, and in your leisurely time.


3️⃣ Improved Sleep Patterns: All of that exercise and movement leads to something not easily attained: great sleep. The quality of your sleep improves and becomes more restful, allowing you to recover more readily.


4️⃣ Increased Mental Clarity: Eating well and providing your brain with the nutrients it needs to perform its best regulates our hormones and allows you to think more clearly. Add in the endorphins from exercising, and you're functioning at top-level.


5️⃣ Healthier Coping Mechanisms: Instead of turning to food, alcohol, or other unhealthy means of coping with stress and anxiety, you develop the desire to go for a peaceful walk or engage in a hard workout. You feel better when you're done!


6️⃣ Cleaner Bloodwork: Eating well and exercising becomes your best medicine, and your bloodwork results show the progress. Pain points such as cholesterol are no longer being watched, and your doctor may decrease medications you are on.
