When I first started my journey, I thought rest days and 'cheat days' were for the weak. You have to be 100% committed and work yourself to the bone EVERY. DAY.
So wrong.
Do rest days ruin your gains? They actually do quite the opposite.
If you work out during the week, your body requires recovery days to repair the 'damage' you did.
Recovery:
💤 Replenishes energy stores
🏥 Decreases the chance of potential injuries
👌 Allows for improved performance and new PR's
🌞 Promotes healthier mental state and improved mood
💊 Boosts your immune response
So if you worked hard this week, don't feel guilty taking some time to relax. Your body and mind will thank you for it!
