what is sustainability?

Paleo, keto, Atkins, Zone...

A million diet options, all with one key similarity: extreme restriction in one or more ways.

Sustainable lifestyles aren't built through restrictions.

When you try to restrict any food groups in excess, you have a greater chance of developing nutritional deficiencies, leading to fatigue, illness, and even chronic health conditions.

With diets like these, you are more likely to become a 'pathological dieter', most commonly leading to bingeing on the foods you restrict, or even developing an eating disorder.

Aggressive dieting reduces your metabolic levels, which reduces the speed of fat burning in your body. This causes you to gain weight more quickly when restrictions end.

Restrictions also amplify the 'moral values' of foods, and doesn't teach healthy eating habits based off of nutritional value and BALANCE!

So if you can't imaging maintaining your current diet for the rest of your life, it's time for you to take the steps you need to find and follow a more comprehensive approach to sustainable, long-term, health-focused eating.
